Before You move in

Deciding to move into a care home can seem daunting for some older people and their friends and families. There will be many questions and we will be delighted to show you round The Priory and introduce you to members of staff at your convenience.

We are one of the foremost nursing homes in Chippenham and we've lots of experience, so you are very safe in our hands.

If you choose the Priory as your care home, we would like to meet you again before you move in. The purpose of this is to get to know your personal, health and social needs. At all times your preferences and choices, wants and wishes, hopes and expectations will be taken into account. By doing this, we can ensure that we are able to prepare your care plan and our staff will be aware of your needs.

We can answer all questions on accommodation and hospitality and give you information on financial matters.

The Care Plan

The care plan sets out the objectives for your care and how we hope to achieve them; it may also incorporate any necessary risk assessments. At least once a month, your plan of care will be reviewed, setting out changes that may have occurred or need to occur in the future. You always have access to your plan of care and are encouraged to participate as fully as possible in the care planning process.

We care about what you want and your independence, so you will always find life at The Priory Care Home is about you, your needs and your wishes.

Your Room and Our Fees

Your room

All the rooms are individually decorated and come fully furnished. You may decide to bring in your own furniture and possessions to add a personal touch to your surroundings. Please let us know what personal items you will be bringing so that we can help you to get settled in without too much fuss. It’s a good idea to discuss this in detail with us to ensure that we can fit everything in. Our handyman will be happy to help you with the larger items of furniture, hang pictures or even tune in your TV and radio

Fees are based on the size & location of the room and the level of care provided. They are fully inclusive of all charges for accommodation, personal assistance, caring and meals. Personal laundry is done in the home and this service is included in the fees. Newspapers, chiropody, hairdressing, trips & outings and dry-cleaning are charged as extras at cost. Full details are set out in the terms and conditions which are available on request.

Preparing for the move

At the Priory Care Home we care about each and every resident and want to make moving as easy as possible. We are on-hand to answer any questions prior to moving to us and we are only a phone call away should you have any questions.

The Priory Care Home Approach

Our approach to providing residential care at our care home is to improve the quality of life for our residents by creating a truly comfortable, homely and friendly environment with planned care, activities and support for every resident's needs and personal values.

We work hard to ensure all residents feel comfortable, heard and given independence when required.

Of course should a resident need some assistance with bathing, dressing or eating, we will support when required, while making sure our resident's have dignity.

A beautiful location

The Priory Care Home is placed in a great location in Chippenham, making it easy to get to. The house really is a home, with beautiful architecture and a classical design that residents really enjoy.

For those looking for company, our rooms are spacious and friendly, offering views of the gardens and a warm, homely atmosphere.

But should residents want some time alone, their well equipped rooms are easily accessible and adapted for all needs.

The Priory is a well-run, happy care home. My mother has lived in an apartment there for twelve years and has been very happy and well cared for. Many of the staff have been there since my mother moved into the home. The care home provides good varied food, weekly activities and regular outings.
