Spring Has Sprung at The Priory!

Here at The Priory, we’ve been enjoying the recent sunshine in Chippenham. Although yesterday brought a few light showers, the Met Office forecasts a brighter outlook with highs reaching 15°C by Saturday!

Residents’ Meeting and Minutes

The residents’ meeting on 8th April was well attended. Minutes of the meeting are available for review at the office, should you be interested.

Easter Fun and Renewed Engagement

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. Our residents certainly did! We hosted a delightful Easter egg hunt filled with treats and laughter. We also had some fantastic entertainment to round out the festivities.

It’s been wonderful to see a renewed sense of engagement from our residents. They’re actively participating in our daily activities, and it’s been a joy to see them socialising and making use of the comfortable residence lounge.

Upcoming Tea Party with Vishal and Team

Speaking of socialising, with the warmer weather approaching, we’re excited to announce a special event! We’ll be scheduling a date soon for residents to enjoy a delightful tea party with Vishal and his team. This will be a fantastic opportunity for family members to catch up and spend quality time together within the warm and welcoming atmosphere of our home.

Lynne will be contacting families with a date to book in the diary for the tea party, please do look out for the email and look forward to meeting all the family members.

Local Poetry Star: Malcolm Takes Centre Stage!

We’re thrilled to celebrate one of our very own residents, Malcolm! Malcolm has recently penned a beautiful poem about his experiences at The Priory, aptly titled “The Priory.” True to our word, we’re making Malcolm a superstar by publishing his poem on our website! You can also find his work proudly displayed throughout the care home, for all residents and visitors to admire.

When you feel that you can no longer cope.

That’s not the time to give up all hope,

Its time to seek some professional care,

The PRIORY REST HOME has some to spare.

The staff are waiting to treat you aright,

Caring at any time of day or night,

They’ll be cognisant of your every need,

Especially any personal one needing speed.

The home is set about a mile out of town,

King Alfred once lived in the centre of town,

It’s been a market town for many a day,

As the museum is proud to display,

A borough since Elizabeth 1’s day,

Until local government had its way.

Introducing Our New Website!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new website https://thepriorycarehome.co.uk. We’ve completely revamped the look and feel, making it easier than ever to navigate and learn more about The Priory Care Home.

While we’ve embraced a modern design for easier use, we’re happy to share that the website maintains the logo and heritage of The Priory. You’ll still find the familiar emblem that represents our long-standing tradition of caring for our community.

We’d love to hear your feedback! What do you think of the new website? Is there anything specific you’d like to see on it? Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with us by replying to this newsletter or giving us a call.

Entertainment in the Garden

With the nicer weather finally here, our entertainers will be taking their talents outdoors! Paul from Ukulele Piddle is returning to entertain everyone on 23rd April. Welcome back, Paul!

Welcome New Chiropodist, Sarah Berkley!

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new chiropodist, Sarah Berkley. Sarah has visited the care home over the last month to get acquainted with everyone and will now be visiting every 6-8 weeks. Her next visit is scheduled for a full day on 28th May.

In the Meantime…

In the meantime, please enjoy the pictures attached of our residents from our Easter celebrations and as always if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re always happy to chat!
